How to Furnish a Long Narrow Living Room

One day, though, I moved into a place that didn’t have a room like this and was forced to consider long narrow room as a living room. It seemed impossible to decorate and furnish it. The idea was to give it a sense of space. It proved to be quite a difficult task. But, as you may know, enthusiasm can make impossibility shrink in appearance.
To begin with, I brought some of my old furniture, which I used in my old living room. Things did not seem to fit, whichever way I try to arrange them. Thoughts of throwing out all my furniture were starting haunt me.
I started again. I placed a small sofa and against one of the long walls. Then I found a place for my TV cabinet. It already started to look promising. Miraculously, my armchair found its place next. Then, one of my study tables, which I like the most. After that came the turn of a small chest with numerous drawers. I use this to store many sometimes unnecessary, sometimes useful. Where could I place this one? Suddenly I got the idea of hanging it on one of the longer walls. I placed my mirror right by the main entrance. This area was a bit dark to begin with, so I got myself a bright ceiling lamp. Finally, my odd livingroom was beautifully arranged and it had an impressive amount of space, after all. A significant contribution to this result were the carefully positioned lamp stands. In conclusion, if I can do it – and I am not a particular design expert, so can you.
Be advised that once you try new methods of improvement, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the awesome changes that will have taken place.
